Beston’s RT002A-dipolar features a laminated aluminum diaphragm, driven by a compact and lightweight neodymium magnet. The rear of the ribbon is left open for use in dipole designs, which also improves response between 1,000 and 3,000 Hz.The Beston RT002A-Dipole tweeter’s driven radiating surface mass is extremely low, and contributes to the transducer’s superb range, efficiency, tonal neutrality, and transient response. The motor, diaphragm, and carefully controlled horn loading combines to create a perfect balance of sensitivity and wide, even dispersion. This version of the RT002A has no rear cup, which improves low frequency response down to 1,000 Hz and makes it perfect for use in dipole speaker systems.A ribbon tweeter’s radiating surface approaches the theoretical ideal of a zero-mass audio source. The articulation, attack, and sonic transparency are quite impressive, and the diaphragm’s monolithic shape and orientation provide a broad horizontal and tightly controlled dispersion characteristic, which is ideal for many listening environments.
