HiVi D6.8B 6″ Poly Bass/Midrange Shielded 60W 8 Ohm – PAIR
Overview:
The “D” loudspeaker range from HiVi synthesizes all the technological advances made in recent years in the field of electroacoustics. It is also the expression of the extraordinary know-how of a team of engineers and music lovers resolutely at the forefront.
Suitable for compact vented box systems, the HiVi D6.8 woofer delivers incredibly deep and dynamic bass. It also may be incorporated in a small closed box as a bass-midrange driver when a subwoofer is employed.
This HiVi D6.8B loudspeaker is equipped with a polypropylene cone injected with mineral elements to densify the structure and improve rigidity. Its suspension is made of natural rubber, ensuring a long speaker life and helping to absorb parasitic vibrations that originate on the surface of the cone. The mobile crew is wound on a Kapton support for better power handling and heat resistance. The loudspeaker also has a powerful magnetic loudspeaker, a combination of 2 magnets, one in Neodymium and the other in ceramic and mounted symmetrically and ventilated. This speaker can be used as a bass/midrange unit on a 2-way system or as a midrange speaker on a more sophisticated 3 goose system.
Features:
- 76 mm high power handling voice coil with Kapton former
- Long-throw symmetrical drive motor structure
- High density aluminum die-cast frame
- Shielded vented magnet system with neodymium magnet
- Specially made high loss rubber surround
- Shallow mineral filled polypropylene cone
The HiVi D6.8B’s design positions the voice coil over an undercut central pole piece with a large thermally stabilized Neodymium magnet at the bottom. A specially shaped, CNC machined steel cup completes the magnetic structure from the outside, creating a shielded magnet system with symmetrical flux density distribution along the gap. The long-throw voice coil experiences a symmetric driving force that substantially decreases inductance and back electromotive force modulations. The magnet structure is optimized using Finite Element Analysis technique that provides a radical improvement of driver linearity. The cone’s shallow, high integrity structure is extremely rigid and dynamically stable. The large voice coil diameter allows a more uniform cone movement, resulting in clear and accurate reproduction; a high temperature voice coil provides a dramatic increase in power handling. Suitable for compact vented box systems, the D6.8B delivers incredibly deep and dynamic bass. It also may be incorporated in a small closed box as a bass-midrange driver when a subwoofer is employed.
